hey guys, so other than a humvee engine, i have never replaced an engine in a car before.
when i get back i am going to get a sr for my and learn stuff as i go, but liekhatch. and i would like to do the swap myself i said i dont have that much experience with replacing engines and wiring or whatnot.

so i was just wondering if someone who has done this before, could help me out? Help would be much appriciated and i am willing to pay as well.
thanks
haha deal. not a hard swap. just bolt in and wire it up. buy conversion harness or DIY.
its straight foward. i think i've see you at rockville
^ may have i have been there couple of times
I would say the swap is not technically hard but you will need guidance when you bump into questions. So just plan some downtime and be ready to post.
well i got 2 questions.. i have a sohc and ihead other than the dohc cluster(fuck) which needs to be swapped out.
you also need something to do with the powersteering lines and heater lines.
I'm confused with the Ihead other than the dohc cluster part but yea.. you need a DOHC cluster or the tach off one. You will need the powersteering lines complete from a DOHC + ps reservoir or buy the kits they sell. I have no personal experience with them kits but they do look nice lol.
Do yourself a big favour and stick with an S13 blacktop SR. Easiest swap IMHO and best deal for the money.

You can try an S14 SR but make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.
s14 sr isn't really that different than doing the s13 sr. for both swaps going into a sohc, you need PS lines and resevoir from a dohc, heater hoses for the s14 sr (not sure about s13), if you stick with the clutch fan, you'll need the SR radiator, if you use an electric you can keep the KA one, and get your wiring harness modified. i can't think of anything else that isn't bolt in lol

Have you done an S14 SR wiring or maintain it for more than say 10k miles?
