I figured I would revive this thread from the oldschool ma240sx...
Post up your favorite roads that you enjoy driving on, whether it be scenic, twsity, straightaway for miles, etc etc.
Also, for added kudos, have a google maps link to the road
Ex.
Georgetown Pike,
Popes Head,
Fox Mill
More to come...
EDIT: heres more
Vint Hill,
Clifton Rd (and anything that branches off it is awesome as well),
Joplin Rd (watch out for deer),
Skyline Drive,
Cherry Hill
This is not intended for any type of tomfoolery and you should
NOT speed on public roads. Period.

Be careful with Georgetown Pike because it's really busy during the day and evenings when people bail out from I-495.
FYI, several years back there was a multiple fatality accident on Popes Head Road. The rolling hills have blind corners immediately after them and if you're not careful you can find a car coming across double yellow at the top of a hill. I think that's what happened. Combined speeds of 35 each way = 70 impact speed = clear fatality.
A powerful car can hit 100mph easily on the straight (I'm estimating, I don't know

), but you don't have runoff room if you don't know the road well.
The times I've been on Fox Mill Road I've found a lot of deer on the road.
There was an accident yesterday on Hooes Road. I don't know how bad it was but it looked like somebody ran off and clipped a tree.
Honestly, if you like good roads, drive out 1 hour from the Beltway in any direction and get off the main road. The backroads out there are practically deserted.
Good advice Ken....you can get in trouble real fast in this area. I'm not going to make any assumptions on peoples driving abilities but all it takes is one car to be coming at you while you're going way to fast around a blind corner, or a deer wandering out in the road for a bad accident to happen.
The best advice I can give you for street driving is lower your entry speed, brake, gear down, and late apex as much as possible without crossing double yellow.
umm i am so against this since local authorities "do" have access to this website.
this is a public forum. anyone and everyone has access.
i don't do the road fast thingies. tried it before, didn't like it. nothing about it is safe or fun.
now a nice casual drive on skyline in the summer would be fun. just can't do it with a nice car anymore cause people get stupid and ruin it for everyone. now cops will pull you over regardless, just a lose-lose anymore.
loch raven for all the bmore'ians good for cruising and scenery and everynow and again a spirited corner
95's a good road.
like said before 619's fun. love that corner haha
