I think he wants to ensure that there is money on hand before the actual meet so food can be bought. Rather then rely on people bringing food. Which doesnt seem to always turn out so well

i was contacted by RO and he stated that too often people say they are bringing "buns" lets say...and when the time of the bbq comes, we have dogs but no buns because that person doesn't show up.
this just insures that RO will buy everything all at once and everything will be present at the bbq.
we are still working out all the logistics, but we figured that we try this idea out

Hmm....
I would be interested to see how you plan to work this out. I can see where this is a good idea...but I can also see how this can go bad. Please keep me in the loop via PM.

My schedule does not allow me to make plans way ahead of time, therefore if I send $7.00 and I don't show up, do I get it back? If I don't send $7.00 and I show up, do I get to eat if I deliver $7.00 cash to the "chef" at the meet? Is there going to be a "sign-in" sheet of sorts? Just curious.

i think we will take "payments" pretty late notice regardless. Also Ro and I agreed that buying "more" is never a bad thing, so unless we have 20 people paying the day of via cash, i doubt last minute notices will be an issue.
the paying thing is simply for people who know they will make it and it'll be hopefully easier on the person(s) buying the food
i still neeed to talk with RO about certain things
