Hey we just picked up an S14 for the shop, and noticed a wierd problem. Driving straight with a/c "on", the airflow from the vents is ok. Turn left, airflow increases noticeably. Turn right, airflow decreases and just about shuts the blower motor off. Very consistent. Wondering if anyone is familiar with this before we rip it apart. We had a similar problem on a B13 se-r before, found bad motor mounts, found the alternator positive terminal was grounding when turning a certain direction, that doesn't appear to be the case here. LMK. Thanks!
What happens when the blower is set to full speed?

May want to check the blower motor resistor.
All this is with blower at full speed, and the problem happens when steering the vehicle left and right, not rotating the knob left and right.

I had the same issue on the B13.

Set the fan speed at different positions and turn the wheel left and right. Does the behaviour occur in all positions or only some positions of fan speed?

If some positions, check the blower resistor and possibly ground. Also check the power wire for the blower.

If all positions, not sure what engine is in there, but check the power steering pressure switch if there is one. You can get low idle speed when the pump is pressurizing at low engine speed.

Hold the revs at say 2k and turn the wheel. Does the blower still do it?

Does battery voltage fluctuate while all this is happening?
