You do not have to touch wiring whatsoever involving the brake and clutch pedal for the 5spd swap. This allows cruise control to work, however, the engine will overrev when depressing the clutch while cruising, instead of shutting off. Remember that when cruising and it will work out great!
ok so i don't touch none of the wires or slice them right but how would that work im trying set it up where the cruise control cancel itself when i step on either the brake or clutch pedals
also how do you wire up the park/neutral and reversed light?pictures if you have would be great
and what are the sensors on the clutch pedals?sorry to ask
The lower harness will always be giving people problems. Welcome to my world.
You have to trace out every single wire on the shell body and the donor lower harness. You do not need anything on the transmission other than reverse lights and speed sensor. The neutral, 4th, and 5th gear switches can be left out. You can remove these from the loom completely.
Then you have to match wires up at the battery box area. You do not match up by plugs because the orientation depends on year/auto/manual/options. It's a pain but you will just have to go through every single wire and match them to the body.
ASCD is completely separate from the engine, and I'm telling you right now will be a pain since you have the auto version. You'll need to completely transition over the manual wiring for the ASCD if you want your clutch pedal to work like stock to cancel cruise.
The clutch pedal has an ASCD switch at the top, and a clutch interlock relay at the bottom. You can leave both alone without affecting engine operation.
You also have to jumper the starter solenoid wire around the inhibitor switch wiring to get the car to crank.
I typically charge $50 to do a 5-speed swap wiring, and another $50 to get the ASCD to work properly. They are a pain to do.
forgot mention are you able to use the automatic driveshaft some say you can and some say you cant why is that?
u cant use the manual driveshaft bc its diff from the auto driveshaft, i wanna say the length of the shaft itself and the spline count on where it plugs into the tranny is diff
any know how to wire up a ka24efor 5 spd swap im still stuck on it
sweet thanks i needed that link
btw what is 5th Position Switch for?
for the top speed fuel cut i believe , basically w/o it u wont have a fuel cut at 127 i believe
