Hey guys,

My red S14 Kouki had a pretty major problem this past Saturday on my way to work. I got about a mile from work and when I pressed the brake pedal, it went all the way to the floor! NO BRAKES! I had to use the E-Brake the rest of the drive. My stock BMC (Brake Master Cylinder) had gone bad but I did a temporary fix on it so I could get back to Fredericksburg. I did not want to take anymore chances so I dropped the car off to get all the upgrades listed below. I didn't expect it to happen this quick because I was going to wait until my S14 Zenki got out of the paint shop before I was going to do all of this. I was also planning on doing some of this stuff myself or with a little help but I don't have time for that as I have no car to drive right now at all.

Here are the upgrades:
~Nismo Front Strut Tower Brace (Already installed)
~Nismo Power Brace
~New Steering Rack
~Nismo Steering Rack Bushings
~Nismo Stainless Steel Clutch Line

I rolled up to the shop this evening to see what progress has been made and they had the wheels on the car and it looked like it should have 10 years ago! The only things they have left to do is install the Z32 BMC, rear Calipers, rear Rotors, front & rear Brake Lines, Nismo Power Brace, and the SPL Tension Rods. It is coming along very nice for my taste.
One problem to the next.......!!!!! I get the car back and the Horn doesn't blow and the "Air Bag" light flashes. I reset it using a method I found online and all it does is blink a code back. Also my clutch pedal won't "kick" back all the way out. It only goes halfway and stops!

HELP! Help! help! I'm getting ready to run it off into the Potomac!
Please see post above the line ^^^ I have issues : (

As promised I have a few pictures and I will lower the car more when I get those fenders rolled:

The need to bleed out the clutch system at both bleed points.
1 on the damp and 1 on the slave - your pedal would feel fine if they did.

The Airbag light is a problem - they likely tore the clock spring in the steering wheel when they installed the rack bushings and didn't pay attention to not letting the steering wheel free spin. A new one from Nissan is like $700 !!. They are responsible for that either way - they basically just broke your SRS system and you now can't pass VA inspection. They should not have let you leave w. the car in that condition. That's like cutting your seatbelt and saying - not our fault...

25554-70F25 Wire Assy-steer $908.80 Zenki
25554-70F85 Wire Assy-steer $1,139.35 Kouki

no idea why they have different part #s, and they prob interchange but Nissan shows 2 different part numbers.
Yet another Update:

I took the car back to the tire shop and they are taking full responsibility for breaking the SRS Spiral Cable. They have agreed to let me take it to Tom's Body Shop (Where my Zenki is getting repainted) and they would pay him to replace the SRS Spiral Cable (Clock Spring). They also told me that they knew that they hooked up m y brake lines wrong into the BMC because they had a fitmit issue and they knew I needed the car back but they have agreed to order the correct size lines and hook the brake lines up to the correct junctions of the BMC. They are making good on all the "hicups" they made. Maybe it's because they are a great shop or maybe it's because I had my shit together when I returned on Friday evening, I don't know. I took the 1997 240sx service manual (Thanks Bernie!) and a Mitchells 1997 Airbag Repair Manual which had a special section for the 240sx and both books talk about how caution must be taken when installing a new Steering Rack so that the steering wheel does not spin or the SRS Spiral Cable will snap.

I'm really glad that this is going to be resolved and I'd like to thank everyone who came to my aid! I really appreciate the help!
I finally took photos of the Kouki. Sorry for the wait and "yes" it will be lowered once the fenders are rolled. Enjoy!

Success!!!!! The SRS Spiral Cable (clock spring) has been installed and it works perfect! I now have a horn, Airbags, and cruise control again!

Ro and others,
The car will be lowered when I get those fenders rolled. I didn't want to (F-Bomb) my tires up!
