Windshield Wiper Motor
Nissan 240SX/Altima 1993-1998 Repair Guide


REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2.Remove the wiper arm assemblies.
3. Remove the cowl cover. The cowl cover is attached by plastic rivets, a screw in the center position and weatherstripping clips along the edge.
4.Remove the panel on the cowl to access the wiper linkage at the motor.
5.Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts.
6.Disconnect the wiper arm linkage at the ball socket by prying the linkage from the wiper motor lever arm.
7.Disconnect the wiper motor electrical harness.
8.Remove the wiper motor from the vehicle.

To install:

9.Position the wiper motor in the vehicle.
10.Connect the wiper motor electrical harness.
11.Connect the wiper arm linkage at the ball socket by snapping the socket in place over the ball.
12.Install the wiper motor retaining bolts and tighten to 33-45 inch lbs. (4-5 Nm).
13.Install the wiper linkage panel on the cowl and tighten the screws securely.
14.Install the cowl cover.
15.Install the wiper arm assemblies.
16.Connect the negative battery cable.

I thought since its raining hard this can help people fast just incase "knock on wood" mine seized on me.

Align your wiper blades! They can eventually bend and over work your wiper arm and wiper motor.
this must be for an S14. the s13 doesn't have that cool cover just over the motor and the motor is held to the linkeage by a 14mm nut. justins is broke and we have to find more parts for it.
That's S14 or Altima.
oh, 93+ ALTIMA, my bad.
does anyone know where i can get the wiper arm linkage??

justin got one out of the junk yard. that's the only thing i can reccomend.
yeah thats what everyone has been recommending i was hoping to get a new one cause the junkyards around VB are starting to run dry of 240's, guess i'll keep trollin the junkyards, thanks for the input
SUPER informative write-up! i ddnt evn kno that access panel in Figure 5 came off. i love this forum!!
