Well, I need some options.
I cracked the welds on my HKS exhaust manifold and need them fixed. If anyone has seen one, the welding on it is rediculous. I need a quality, precise welding job done. I know some of you on here do weld (lee, victor) but I'm really looking for a professional shop to do it. Or at least someone who has good TIG experience with manifolds.
I know Piper does very nice work, but they are quite expensive. Last time they did some welding for me their rate was $85/hr. Likely higher now. That was aluminum so I can understand, but this job would likely take longer than 1-2 hours. I know they are VERY busy too, would take some time to get it back I assume. They are most likely to get my business though if I can't find another option.
The cracks are on the welds themselves on the inside (flange side) of the collector up to one of the runners. I assume they will have to be ground down and re-welded. Very tight quarters in there so I'm a bit apprehensive about back yard mechanics being able to help.
So......who would you suggest? Somewhere local to the NOVA/DC/MD area would be nice. If you don't want to post for what ever reason, PM me.
Thanks guys.
